TP 15530 Level 1 Complex Practical Flight Review

COURSE DESCRIPTION

The Level 1 Complex Flight Review is the final step for pilots seeking full certification to operate in Level 1 Complex environments under Transport Canada TP15530. Designed for students who have completed the Level 1 Complex Operations Ground School, this review assesses your ability to safely and confidently conduct Level 1 Complex BVLOS operations in real-world scenarios. The review is conducted live by an authorized Volatus Academy examiner.

Step 3: Under "Flight Review Form" select "Schedule Your Flight Review" to fill out and submit the form.


Step 2: Open the Course Player (you should be automatically redirected).


Step 4: An instructor will reach out to schedule your review within 5 business days.

* Please note that locations outside of our core flight review locations (Vancouver BC, Calgary AB, Edmonton AB, Winnipeg MB, Toronto ON, Quebec City QC, and Prince Edward Island PE) may result in additional fees.

Required Documentation for Review

Government Issued ID

The candidate must provide a valid (not expired) piece of government-issued (federal, provincial/territorial/state government authority or the equivalent body abroad) identification that provides your name and date of birth.

Proof of Eligibility

In order to be admitted to the flight review, the candidate must have completed their Level 1 Complex ground school and passed the Level 1 Complex exam. Bring a printed copy of the ground school certificate, exam pass and your Pilot Certificate.

Visual Observer for DAA

In order to conduct the flight review, you will need to bring a suitably trained visual observer to act as the detect and avoid (DAA) for the flight operation. 

RPAS & Documentation

  • An RPAS with safety assurance for advanced operations
  • The RPAS user manual
  • Adequate communications and safety equipment for the operation
  • A detailed Site Survey (including an Operational Risk Assessment)
  • RPAS Operations Manual (ROM) including SOP's, emergency procedures & checklists
  • Any Landowner Permission to fly (where applicable)
